BOGOTÁ, Colombia – Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) terrorists dynamited a section of the Cerrejón railway, near the municipality of Albania in the department of Guajira, authorities said Jan. 22.

An Army spokesman said the railway was restored shortly after the explosion, and a security operation is underway to prevent additional attacks by the FARC, which ended its two-month unilateral ceasefire on Jan. 20. The Andean nation’s largest terrorist group and the Colombian government are engaged in peace talks in Cuba.

“The explosion occurred near a private airport used by a coal company, in the 15th kilometer of the railway, in the Albania municipality,” Colombian Army Col. Eber Velasco said.
