Nicaragua: Ortega starts blame game... says he is willing to "dialogue" (but concede?)

Daniel Ortega said he was willing to amend reforms after protests
The president of Nicaragua blamed the violence of the demonstrations on "small opposition groups that conspire against the model"

Daniel Ortega, president of Nicaragua, affirmed on Saturday that his government is willing to amend the reforms to Social Security, which caused demonstrations that have left 10 dead* and hundreds of wounded.

Ortega indicated that they will resume the dialogue with the private sector to discuss new measures in social security.

"If there is a better way to apply this adjustment at the table (dialogue with businessmen), you can reform that decree or annul it and make a new one," the president said.

He blamed the violence in the protests on "small opposition groups that conspire against the model of alliances, because they think that then they will take over the government and do not care at the cost of whatever."

Because the violence against the protesters is coming from the protesters themselves?

There is a lot of anger in Nicaragua. The FSLN is rotten to the core, as nepotism and corruption is rampant in government. There is no "dialogue with businessmen"... that is misdirection. It is El Pueblo that is angry. Anyone who is making money in Nicaragua is connected to the FSLN.

Ortega's storm troopers (the National Police Director General is Sandinista loyalist Aminta Granera) are NOT using non-lethal force to break up protests. (*Now over 3 dozen dead in the last 4 days)

The economy is spiraling into chaos. Again, the only people making a killing are the politically connected.

Ortega has suspended press liberties (only for opposition press, but not his state controlled mouthpieces) and has said that any dissent against his heavy handed Marxist/Leninist regime (his wife is VP) will be met with force.

As far as dialogue goes, it buys time only. Maduro in Venezuela says he wants "dialogue", when in fact he had ZERO intention of making any concessions.
