Brazilian Journalist Vents: "How I helped manipulate opinions and enable the coup"

This is a good read. I'm sorry it is in Portuguese, so I am not sure if a website translator will do justice.

Press Officer, reporter and ghostwriter for president of federation of hospitals, which has published texts on vehicles such as Folha , Estado and Valor Econômico , reveals step-by-step scheme used by these papers to manipulate public opinion and legitimize the impeachment of Rousseff.

I apologize for having collaborated with this mess, and I want to justify myself by saying that I was trying to work honestly, that I went into depression in this work and (fortunately) was fired.

(...)

A coup begins this way: you gather the stakeholders and start "destroying the image" of the president on several fronts, blaming it for everything possible, using television, newspapers, radio stations and Internet portals. One interested in Dilma's fall was my boss, Yussif Ali Mere Jr. and his fellow directors of the union and the federation.

So I had to write things that I abhor, and the person claiming authorship was usually the chairman or vice-chair, or one of bigwigs over there. I managed to publish opinions in newspapers as "Folha", "Estadão", "Valor Econômico" and "O Globo", among others.
