Pedestrian struck and killed near Walt Disney World

A pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday morning in the resort area outside Walt Disney World, and multiple social-media posts indicated the victim was a well-known Venezuelan DJ.
The victim was identified Sunday night as 33-year-old Luis Borges Mendoza.
On social media and Spanish-language Websites, multiple posts and stories mourned the loss of DJ Luis Borges. According to a biography on the website djluisborges.com, Borges was a Venezuelan DJ who, among working in other genres, was known for house music and electronic dance music. That biography also states Borges was involved in the creation of an album nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2012.
It could not be confirmed that DJ Borges was the same person who was hit by a car early Sunday, though there were no Websites or social-media posts disputing the contention that Borges the DJ was the local victim who died in Central Florida on Sunday.
