With utmost anticipation fans of the nine year-old exceptionally-endowed jazz musician José André Montaño are waiting for the U.S. debut next Wednesday, March 18th, 2015 at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the nation's capital where he will be joining D.C-based musicians, Alejandro Lucini on drums, and David Jernigan on bass.
The Latin American artist aka José André was born in Cochabamba, Bolivia on March 20th, 2005. He will be celebrating his first decade during this first trip to the United States.
Despite his visual impairment condition since birth, the young boy first demonstrated his tendency leaning to music exploring with all sorts of percussion instruments such as bongos, tambourines, congas and Cabassa.
Then, he discovered his extraordinary skills for piano, all in a self-taught fashion.
At the early age of 6, he founded his first jazz band, the José André Jazz Trio formed by Victor Hugo Guzman on drums and Andy Burnett on bass.
