http://www.eluniversal.com/economia/140124/three-other-airlines-suspend-sale-of-tickets-in-venezuelaAmerican Airlines, United Airlines, and Copa Airlines suspended temporarily on Friday the sale of tickets in Venezuela.
The decision came after other airlines adopted the same measures in light of uncertainty over the million debt Venezuelan authorities owe to international airlines. The actions are also attributed to the latest adjustments in Venezuelan forex regulations.
News agency AP reported that the airlines would not inform clients about the reasons for the decision, nor did they inform when tickets would be sold again.

(6,837 posts)Although, Maduro might resign to spend more time with his family or something of that nature, and God-given hair will replace him.
A serious social incident might make things ugly though like a strike at a major industry, or a popular protest that turns violent.

They're both wearing their uniforms, "couping" together, and smiling like comradely conspirators. Maduro-Manuro never served; it would be a simple matter to discredit him--all one has to do is point to the supermarket shelves.
There are many more recent images as well, that suggest a close friendship:
I think if there's any "couping" that happens, it'll be one of Hugo's friends that does it--not the opposition.

(2,035 posts)They tried to not really call it a devaluation when they announced it, but everybody can see through the bullshit and know what's going on. Even Eva Golinger was shocked by this measure. It's actually kinda fun to see many chavistas on social media reacting so unhappily about the whole situation. I'm sensing Maduro's approval rate dwindling after this. People are finally starting to realize just how poorly the economy has been handled by this government.

(5,169 posts)The U.N. Sustainable Development Solutions Network released its World Happiness Report for 2013 last week. Following up on the first such report, released last year, the U.N. says that the 2013 edition delves in more detail into the analysis of the global happiness data, examining trends over time and breaking down each countrys score into its component parts, so that citizens and policy makers can understand their countrys ranking. It also draws connections to other major initiatives to measure well-being, including those conducted by the OECD and UNDPs Human Development Report
The World Happiness Report, as with similar such studies as the Happy Planet Index is in part a response to perceived shortcomings with traditional economic and social measures such as growth, poverty rates, employment, education, life expectancy and other indicators.
While U.S. media coverage of the report was not overwhelming, there was some. The report was also covered in numerous international outlets in countries throughout Europe, in Asia, Africa and Australia and New Zealand, among others. CNN noted that
On a regional basis, by far the largest gains in life evaluations in terms of the prevalence and size of the increases have been in Latin America and the Caribbean, and in Sub-Saharan Africa", the report said. Reduced levels of corruption also contributed to the rise.
But CNN neglected to mention that Venezuela ranked first again among South American nations as happiest.
