The age gap.

Does anyone have advice for me? I feel completely paralyzed when it comes to talking to young Sanders supporters, because I think that regardless of the subject, my views would be dismissed simply because of my age. Like it's adolescents and their parents all over again. So is the only thing to do just stay quiet?

They are then faced with either voting for a "career criminal, corporatist, gay-hating warmonger" or staying true to their moral superiority.

I don't argue with them. I make them own their rhetoric and show them that they've painted themselves into a corner. I calmly, confidently, and peacefully express my support for Hillary .

My cousin's really young 20 something year old son called Hillary the "C" word and a liar the other day. I told him how misogynistic and irrational that was and that most people would dismiss him outright.

My 20 something year old half-brother called her a career criminal.

I suppose I was a political know-it-all at their age, too
But I have never said anything like that about a Democrat.

If talking to a person who sincerely wants to know what you think then have ready 10 reasons you support Hillary and share those. If someone just wants to rile you up or put you in a spot then you can walk away or suggest that "we can all agree that Trump is....." or simply say you disagree. Hope this helps.

and the Cubans and the Cambodians and others.

We all negotiate and make compromises in every area of our lives. This is true for politics, too.

The reason why the Republicans are now in such a disarray is because they had that group in Congress that would not compromise, they have Cruz who would not compromise and now appears to be the savior of the party.

We do not run a country by making demands. We run the country by thoughtfully thinking about policies, how much it would cost and how to pay for it.

And, of course, the small thing of getting Congress to pass our policies.

Fat chance with Sanders.

Yes, being pragmatic, again.

They can start the revolution by working on sending like minded individuals to Congress. Or to their City Halls, or Counties and State legislative bodies.

I'm only 26, I don't know how to approach Sanders supporters either....most of
them at least. They really don't care to hear much Hillary folks (or non
over the top Bernie supporters). If they bring up age, I think that's less
the cause of their dismissing your comments and more of an excuse. In
my case, they use other excuses.

They have their opinions, and they'll justify them one way or another...
the extreme ones of course...most of them are not that way (just,
unfortunately, most of the ones we see on DU and elsewhere online).

if they're set in their opinions, and judgemental by nature. The set in the opinions thing is honestly easier to work on than the judgemental by nature thing.
