Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI early voted in the Georgia primary today.
After much thought, I came to the decision that Bernie was not electable so I voted for Hillary.
I did have to ask myself, was I voting for her because, while I like Bernie, was it because of how nasty and obnoxious Bernie's supporters are on DU.
After much thought, it still boiled down to I just don't feel he has a chance against the GOP machine and will not be able to capture the nomination.
I hope my Hillary friends are not like some of Bernie supporters who say they will NOT vote for the nominee unless it is Bernie.
I will vote for whoever the nominee is.

(10,407 posts)I voted in the Georgia primary via absentee ballot a couple of weeks ago. I have made a pact with my niece who is a Sanders supporter. Both of us will be voting for the Democratic nominee in the GE. I am pretty sure that Hillary will be the nominee.....but if for some reason she isn't.....I will vote for the nominee. The SCOTUS is too important not to.

(16,104 posts)Hell - we already lose more than half the presidential elections already.
And have seen Congress and governors and state legislatures go more and more Republican.
We don't like it. Which is why we support the best candidate.
And why it is so disheartening to see one of our candidates being relentlessly vilified and smeared!

If you were here 8 years ago, people made the same threats.
For the vast majority, they didn't follow through.
They voted and voted for Obama

(24,432 posts)Wish everyone would (even republicans)
Thanks for getting out there and voting
As to not voting: I have a few friends who support HRC who said they won't vote for Sanders and I know a few who say if it's Clinton they won't
They were pretty much the same people who said that in '08 about Clinton or Obama.
The Clinton people did vote for Obama
It's easy to talk now from 8 months before election day

(15,951 posts)think that Hillary would be a much better and effective president who could actually get things done. Of course if Bernie were the Democratic nominee I would volunteer and vote for him. The election is just too important to have a Republican president. I agree with you there are a lot of obnoxious Bernie supporters on DU. I don't know why so many of them are this way on line because in my personal life I know some Bernie supporters and they are very nice. Thanks for voting for Hillary today.

(1,968 posts)And yes, I'll vote for Bernie if he's the candidate.
I have to say, I'd be having chest pains, gagging a bit, and dragging myself out over my own better judgement to do so. But since I'd have to drag myself out to vote for the down-ticket Dems anyway, he might as well come along for the ride.
I regret to report that I simply don't like him.
