The editors of the publication reached out to the people they covered asking them to sign an open letter to Congress asking for two measures expanded background checks and banning people on the no fly list from buying guns to be passed.
Joan Jett was the first to sign the letter, quickly followed by Lady Gaga.
Soon, the remaining members of the Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr had signed on, along with Hillary Clinton supporters Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Demi Lovato and pop princesses Shakira and Britney Spears.

he two living Beatles - Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr - both signed on to the letter that asks Congress to approve measures that would ban those on the no fly list from getting guns
Great my favorite Beatles and many more signed on with Hillary,,,,
John Lennon's widow Yoko Ono signed the letter too. She had personal experience with gun violence as Lennon was murdered by gunfire in 1980

(3,750 posts)to seeing that John's "peace" legacy is carried forth. She also speaks out every time John's killer (I know the name but I refuse to say it) is up for parole. I still remember that awful day too.
