Why Do Media Ignore Positive Numbers for Clinton? (HILLARY GROUP)

You would never know it by reading the mainstream media or watching the cable news hosts and talking heads doing their usual media onslaught about Hillary Clinton on emails and the Clinton Foundation. But the most current polling data show that the former secretary of state has substantial favorable ratings among all Democrats nationally and among Iowa Democrats. And she also is ahead of every Republican presidential candidate. So why have the national media and chattering talking heads ignore the positive Hillary data that doesn’t fit their predispositions?

Why do the national media ignore these high ratings of Hillary Clinton? Ya think predisposed minds don’t want facts to get in the way of their own biases?

In an Aug. 21 release, the Gallup organization headlined: "Campaign Challenges Aside, Clinton's Image with Dems Stable." Gallup found: "Hillary Clinton remains the best liked among her party faithful. She enjoys a net favorable score of plus-60 percent, which is essentially where she stood in July." The survey of 3,000 Democrats across the country showed Clinton with favorable ratings greater than seven-out-of-10 Democrats.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of all polls conducted between July 20 and Aug. 16, Clinton leads by a substantial margin among Democrats nationally: 49 percent to 25 percent over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), with Biden in third place with just 12 percent, despite his 100 percent name recognition and high profile as vice president. Same thing among Iowa caucusgoers, where Joe Biden has run twice before: In RCP average of most recent polls, Clinton leads Sanders by 24 percent, with Biden in third place behind Sanders at 9 percent, and 41 percent behind Clinton, with just five months to go to the Iowa caucuses.

Without putting much stock in early in general election polls, the fact is — despite the constant, daily media and GOP attacks on Hillary Clinton — in the RCP average of all polls conducted during the same July 20-Aug. 16 time period, Clinton leads over every single Republican candidate. For example, she leads Trump by 10 percent, Scott Walker (+5); Marco Rubio (+4); Jeb Bush (+3); John Kasich (+9); Carly Fiorina and Chris Christie (11).

Why are people still choosing Hillary Clinton despite all negative media and GOP partisan attacks that have caused, I would submit inevitably, a rise in her unfavorable personal ratings?

I suggest three reasons. First, voters must make choices — and most Democrats and most voters are choosing Clinton vs. the others because they see her as laying out specific proposals that address and propose solutions for the real-life problems of everyday Americans....

Second, while many people say they have questions about the way Clinton has handled the emails controversy, they also seem to understand that 1) she violated no laws; and 2) there is no evidence that national security was harmed by her having a private, secure server. So what's the fuss about, other than media hype (again) and politics?...

And third, men as well as women in this country happen to believe that it's about time America elected a qualified female president of the United States. Every other major democracy in the world has.

Any opponent of Hillary Clinton, current or future, must understand the power of this historic opportunity, given Clinton's high qualifications for the office of President.

They want a close race. That's also why there has been so much Biden talk. The pundits aren't convinced that any of the candidates currently in the race will be very competitive with Clinton. If there isn't a close race for them to cover, they won't get as many viewers tuning in and won't be able to sell as many ads. A competitive race also results in the campaigns and PACs spending more on ads.

And in order to do that, the media now ignores the facts and reports on the rumors, lies and innuendo. It's the age old adage....'if it bleeds, it leads'.

...but also because they are pathological haters. They truly do suffer from groupthink and meangirl mentality when it comes to Hillary. They way some of them act (Mika, I'm talking to you) one would think their very lives depended on making sure that HRC never became president.

I just think it's always good to keep in mind that the for-profit media is generally interested in profits more than anything else. Their other motivations are secondary. Also good to keep in mind that most of the people you see on TV are wealthy or at least high income so they are going to be biased against candidates who propose policies that might result in higher taxes on the wealthy.

She haz it. And she has it across a broad range of national and international experience.

I think Bill Clinton said it best. "The American people almost always get it right."
