Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumAnybody besides me starting to think that Bernies supporters just groove on the anger
It seems almost masochistic.
I think they like the pain.
The way they're torturing the logic of the math.
The angst ridden concern about an indictment that isn't coming.
The manic posting of polls showing Bernie beats the Republicans by bigger margins than Hillary
even tho she beats them by big enough margins.
If it were a few I'd not notice. But it's a lot more than a few.
And their disconnected from reality scenarios just keep getting posted over and over.
When those scenarios are countered the answers is it's all a conspiracy.
This is getting painful to watch.

(6,551 posts)To the point that they are not making sense in several of the threads I have read.
I'm still posting there ad nauseum about the need to build Bernie's movement because that's the one objective that is achievable, and I've given some ideas on how to do this, but I think it's a waste of time. The typical responses are insults.
I'm not hopeful that Bernie will unite with Hillary the way that Hillary united with President Obama. I read a couple of articles some time ago about how when he was mayor, he made enemies in Burlington because he was so difficult to work with. It was his way or the highway. Staff turnover was high. An then I'm reminded of Diane Feinstein's comment that it's difficult to make friends with Bernie.
So I'm not optimistic.

(3,733 posts)of Bernies campaign and how he should work to get
some of his issues enshrined as planks in the platform.
It was either ignored or I was told
that Hillary counldn't be trusted even if she agreed to add his issues as planks
and anyway 2020 would be too late yadda yadda yadda.
I am seeing more Hillary supporters just snarking them now
as opposed to trying to have a conversation.
Reaching out didn't seem to work.

(55,894 posts)seems like thinly veiled misogyny and latent racism.
And for all the BS'ers, I'm not calling you all racists and sexists.
But some of the unfiltered crap that's been posted has been pretty illustrative of a NON-Progressive mindset.

(332 posts)I saw and read dozens of posts here at DU where Bernie supporters called Black voters in the South uneducated and stupid for choosing Hillary . That told me all I needed to know from that point on !

(31,515 posts)They've put a lot of heart and soul into Bernie's campaign and it's going to take a while for them to accept that he isn't going to be the nominee. I'm just going to leave them alone for now and see where it goes.

(3,733 posts)But when I tried a few reach out comments about how much good Bernie had done and how
he's gotten conversations started that need to happen
all that got in return was
Hillary sucks we want it right now Bernie or BUst.
It's like they've come unhinged.

When the budget for Revolution Media runs out, 85% of them will disappear onto the next project. As I always say, "If they post like they're being paid to do so, they probably are."

(42,862 posts)and yanking our chains. It's often difficult for me to believe that these people can actually believe some of the awful things they say about Hillary and their assessment of Bernie's chances of pulling of multiple consecutive SHUTOUT wins in the remaining primary states.
Like some hidden camera show with weird stunts, crazy gags and over the top performances just to get a reaction from us.
They're good at what they do, and they're pretty insulated from any meaningful consequences when it comes to crossing the line ... so I guess it must be a fun way to pass the time until Hillary's inevitable nomination.
It won't be much longer now.

(3,733 posts)They just hate Hillary with a knee jerk visceral hatred that unhinges them.
In their world the thought of Hillary being president means that goodness is gone from the face of the earth
their food doesn't taste as good if Hillary is president.
They will be unable to have meaningful relationships with other people and music and art and beauty
will be extinguished from the earth if Hillary wins.
If Hillary wins the world becomes Mordor and they become Gollum.

(6,280 posts)... for two main reasons. Number one, and always number one, Clinton hatred. Number two, and not far behind, they are angry because st. Bernard is getting his ass handed to him, which fuels reason number one even more. They are now caught in a vicious circle, and cannot bring themselves to cede even one inch, because that one inch would feel like everything to them. Don't look for a certain faction of Bernie's supporters to back off of their not so genuine "zeal" for him anytime soon. Yeah, it's that deep.

(3,733 posts)or more probably not vote.
What I'm sure they will do tho
is exit loudly making sure we realize how angry they are.
That seems to be a big thing to a lot of them.
For everybody else to see just how angry they are.
Some kind of weird passive aggressive off point shaming excercise.

(10,476 posts)Millennials...the ones in the Bernie camp anyways...doesn't seem to be able to deal with nuanced positions on the issues. They've been taught, rightly, to speak out loudly against racism, sexism, transphobia, etc...i.e. the dimwitted positions of the religious right-wingers. But when it comes to differences in how to approach certain issues between Democrats, say fracking, they apply that rigid opposition to anything that doesn't 100% line up with their belief.
Fracking is a prim example, really, look how they demonized Clinton for saying that she could envision allowing it in specific circumstances after rigid environmental hurdles were cleared.
griffi94
(3,733 posts)They are also frequently uninformed or under informed.
Reminds me very much of bumpersticker slogans.
They repeat the thing they've heard.
Hillary voted for IWR.
What they miss is all the details that were around that vote.
She also apologized for that vote and said she regrets it now.
Of course they know she's just lying.
They're not interested in reason or compromise. I'd wager they don't even care in the main
about the issues they spout on about.
As you just pointed out about fracking. They don't get nuance.
They seem to want to burn it all down.
Period. End of sentence.

but they want all of it...right now...or else.
That's just not realistic.
Hillary started trying to reform healthcare
buring Bills first term.
We finally made some real progress in Obamas first term.
Progress takes time and constant effort not slogans, rallies, and large
followings on twitter.

But most of the regular people I know (regular meaning not poltical junkies)
Aren't really angry. They are as always busy with their lives
and concerned about economic and kitchen table issues.
Anger is a very self-destructive emotion.
