If your going to say you meet with the Pope, why wouldn't you take pictures?
And has the Vatican commented?

(15,368 posts)he was met by Bernie in the lobby of his residence (where Bernie was staying) as the Pope was leaving for Greece. Because of good manners only, he greeted them, shook their hands and said nothing more.

"When I came down, I greeted them, shook their hands and nothing more. This is good manners. It's called good manners and not getting mixed up in politics. If anyone thinks that greeting someone means getting involved in politics, they should see a psychiatrist," the pope said.
Of course, Bernie spins it differently and Sachs is there helping him.
"We had an opportunity to meet with him this morning," Sanders said. "It was a real honor for me, for my wife and I to spend some time with him. I think he is one of the extraordinary figures not only in the world today but in modern world history."
Sanders said he had the chance to tell the pope that "I was incredibly appreciative of the incredible role that he is playing in this planet in discussing issues about the need for an economy based on morality, not greed."
...
Sachs said Sanders saw the pope in the foyer of the domus, and that the encounter lasted about five minutes. Sanders later joined his family, including some of his grandchildren, for a walking tour of St. Peter's Basilica, one of the holiest Catholic shrines.
The trip gave Sanders a moment on the world stage, putting him alongside priests, bishops, academics and two South American presidents at the Vatican conference.
I think that I'll believe the Pope's version over Bernie's and Sachs's.
Bernie also botched his moment on the world stage by not even realizing that the encyclical he was enthusing about wasn't even written by Pope Francis.

(2,331 posts)The Vatican probably did so with a no picture clause so it couldn't be used in political advertising. Not sure why the pope wants to inject himself into US primary politics but Hillary is still going to win NY on Tuesday and the story will disappear

Now that's straight from the Pope himself.

I'm just glad that we have Hillary running for President so we don't have to settle for someone like him.

And, that interview with the NYDN news that BS showed up for unprepared.. that's exactly what I don't want in a President.
As I said.. I'm just really glad that Hillary is running for President and that she's going to win.. she's an accomplished leader. BS hasn't accomplished anything.

We personally don't give a rats butt, this is the Hillary Group, and she is going to be the nominee
.
It will be quite obvious to even Sanders groups everywhere after next Tuesday. I have no idea if BS supporters can hold together. If they ever really were, given the amount of obvious shills online everywhere.
Good luck with that.

(17,086 posts)The Pope says they met in "his" residence. Either he means that he went to where Sanders spent the night, in which case it was hardly stalking, or Sanders spent the night under the same roof as the Pope, in which case it would be pretty rude of the Pope not to at least greet his personal guest in the morning before he left. It would have been equally graceless for Sanders to miss an opportunity to thank his host for his hospitality, knowing it would be the only chance to do so.

(4,187 posts)We already know that in his supporters' eyes, Bernie can do no wrong. You are not telling anyone here anything new.
Isn't it enough that Bernie supporters dominate GD-P with their anti-Hillary smears, insults, and ridicule? Just as you wouldn't go into a women's bathroom to lecture women about how they should be supporting Bernie, common courtesy demands that you not post in the Hillary forum to lecture Hillary supporters about how you think we don't know what we're talking about.
