Dumb Criminals: Burglar's To Do List: Find Meth, Steal Gold Watch, Be Nice To Stranger
WEYMOUTH
Find crystal meth. Get a gold watch. Commit a break-in or rob a dealer. Sell drugs. Do one altruistic thing for a stranger.
Those were the some of the to-do items in the notebook of a North Weymouth man who faces charges of breaking and entering, police Capt. Richard Fuller said.
Evan T. Dorsey, 25, of 43 Bicknell Road was arraigned Monday and ordered to undergo in-patient drug and alcohol treatment and return to court April 22.
Officers responded to the area of Blackstone and Sagamore roads in North Weymouth at about 5 p.m. Friday after residents reported seeing a man carrying a bag and knocking on doors. The callers told police they saw the man, later identified as Dorsey, break into a garage on Wessagusset Road. When two of the residents confronted Dorsey, he said he was going door to door conducting a survey about opening a marijuana dispensary, Fuller said.
The officers spotted Dorsey on nearby Manomet Road, where they watched while he knocked on a side door, then stole diabetic supplies including insulin from a UPS package on the doorstep and attempted to pry open a door before they stopped him, Fuller said.
