(10,597 posts)... What beautiful people. In spite of the biting cold, they were so happy! They would have had to put me in the hospital pronto after that walk in the cold! Last time I was in DC was Jan 13, 2003. At a large large Anti-war protest. I was dressed in felt from head to toe, but I was still froze to the bone. It looks like half-decent weather this time, thank goodness for everyone.

(91,206 posts)I think those were the months -- the April one was the million-strong March for Women's Lives, and the August one was an anti-war march right after Hurricane Katrina. The Bush Cabal paid no attention to either one.
I just could not have done one in January -- I don't have the clothing, living in SoCal!

(10,597 posts)...was the Anti-War protest before Bush led us into the illegal invasion into Iraq in March of 2003. The whole world was marching against the effing war! and nope.. GW looked at pretests as...what was it.. oh yeah... "focus groups.
I'm off of here now! Have to get up in the AM for ALL the festivities!!! Happy Inaugural Day!
