Looking for AntiVirus Software Recommendations - TIA
I currently have Kaspersky but want something else. I've heard of PCMatic, Mcaffe and Symantec? Is there one that's better than the other?
Thanks for the feedback.

(3,972 posts)small footprint and updates with windows update. Free for windows 7.
It has the smallest footprint and does a satisfactory job.
Add a Malwarebyte sub to it and you should be good.

(30 posts)I recommend eset.com - It's a lean program. Not bloated. It installs quick. I've installed it 100's of times for my clients.

(6,890 posts)Why would anyone trust Kaspersky and McAffee? Consider using Ghostery and ABP.

Their CEO was removed by Putin during the election furore and I don't know why.
Ghostery is good for removing advertisers and trackers but it's not an antivirus. MacAfee
in combination with Windows AV is fine for home systems. I dumped Symantec years ago because it made the computer run like shit when it updated, and it updated a lot.

My recommendation is Avira, also use Malwarebytes....

(21,319 posts)You can use it on 4 machines. My IT guy at work recommended it. Haven't gotten any nasty viruses in the years I've been using.
