Walker supports the measure which weakens the board and strengthens the power of Abele?

A bill to limit the budget and power of the Milwaukee County Board - and likely cut supervisors' pay – will be taken up by the state Senate Tuesday.

The Senate is expected to slightly amend the bill, which would send it back to the Assembly for a second time.

On Wednesday of last week, the Assembly approved the bill on a 59-39 party-line vote, with Republicans in favor and Democrats opposed. But that same day a Senate panel endorsed a companion bill, but with a minor amendment.

Both houses have to pass identical versions of the bill to get it to Gov. Scott Walker for his signature. If the two houses fail to reconcile the differences Tuesday, it would kick the earliest possible action on the bill to the Legislature’s next session days in June.

The composition/pay of a county government should be the business of the people of that county.

...after Citizens United, the "people of the county," in the census count that matters (see: people who donate to politician's campaigns lists) we now include a whole lot of large corporations.

Since these large corporations have been legally defined as having many rights -- but a much smaller number of civic or social responsibilities (not sure, really, if they've been legally re-defined as having any at all) -- that's become the most important constituency.

.......more commentary on the same topic, with an awesome graphic that explains everything:
