Fitzgerald's Senate meeting was just for show--they will vote immediately after the hearing
tonight! He said he had the votes last Friday when this was announced and says he has them now. dam.
...........The Senate labor and government reform committee was expected to vote on the bill after Tuesday's hearing, and the full Senate was to begin debate Wednesday. Republicans control the chamber 18-14, with one vacancy, and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he has the 17 votes needed to pass it.
The Assembly is expected to take up its bill next week. Gov. Scott Walker said Friday he would sign such a bill after repeatedly saying he was discouraging lawmakers from bringing up right-to-work this session because it would be a distraction.
The Capitol will remain open after the usual 6 p.m. closing time -- through the Martin Luther King Jr. entrance -- if the hearing runs later, said state Department of Administration spokesman Cullen Werwie.
