Election 2014 WI GOP issue, get tougher on pot possession

While the rest of the country is reducing penalties or making pot legal, the new WI GOP (and probably national GOP) issue will be to crack down even harder on pot possession. Cue lots of stereotypes about Madison and Milwaukee liberals being stoned from WI Republicans.

Nearly half of America’s states have eased up on the use of marijuana, but Wisconsin is moving toward further criminalization of the drug.

The Wisconsin Assembly on Tuesday approved a bill that would give local governments more power to penalize marijuana use.

They could prohibit the possession of any amount of marijuana and issue citations, if the district attorney declines to file charges.

Right now, municipalities can enact or enforce ordinances prohibiting possession of 25 grams or less of marijuana.

Hire a few more drug cops with the surplus.

He will have the money when he gets rid of the income tax and imposes a 14% sales tax on everyone. They are even talking about a sales tax on food in 2015.
