Clinton campaign ramps up for fall push in West Virginia

The latest polls show Donald Trump with a healthy lead in West Virginia. Most forecasts show the Mountain State as one of the most solidly red states.

But Hillary Clinton supporters in West Virginia are eager to cut into that double-digit polling lead, and to buoy Democratic candidates farther down the ticket.

Several local democratic politicians and a crowd of Hillary Clinton supporters met in Charleston Wednesday night to kick off the final months of the presidential campaign, which started in earnest more than a year and a half ago.

Talley Sergent, the West Virginia state director for the Clinton campaign, led the event by emphasizing that Trump and the portion of the Republican Party that supports him isn’t the right choice for the country or the state.

it will at least force Trump and the RNC to spend money in states like West Virginia which in turn means it will be more difficult for Republicans elsewhere.
