I-90 at Snoqualmie Pass reopens, Stevens Pass to remain closed

After remaining closed Saturday night, Interstate 90 between North Bend and Ellensburg reopened Sunday morning.

Chains are required on all vehicles except that don't have all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said.

"Thanks to all for your patience during this recent closure," WSDOT's Snoqualmie Pass tweeted at 9:56 a.m. "We haven't seen an ice storm like this in awhile. It makes travel very dangerous and our #1 priority is the safety of you and our crews. More freezing rain today into tomorrow. Travel is going to be challenging."

US 2 at Stevens Pass will remain closed on Sunday as "the road is a sheet of ice," WSDOT said.
