Larsen will lead Democrats on House transportation committee

EVERETT — U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen of Everett will serve as the ranking Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the next session of Congress.

With Republicans in the House majority, Larsen will be the top member of the minority party on the committee. Larsen was elected to the post by his caucus Thursday.

“In the 118th Congress, Democrats will protect and build upon the success of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the transportation provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act to create more jobs, keep the economy moving and build a cleaner, greener, safer and more accessible transportation system,” Larsen said in a statement.

Larsen won a 12th term in November representing the 2nd Congressional District. He’s the district’s longest-serving member.
