3 lanes closed along I-5 through Seattle to clear icicles off of Convention Center tunnel ceiling
The Washington State Department of Transportation is warning drivers to expect intermittent closures along northbound I-5 through the Seattle Convention Center tunnel, as crews work to remove large icicles from the tunnel ceiling.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. Thursday, WSDOT closed the three left lanes under the Convention Center. As of 10 a.m., those lanes have remained closed as work to clear icicles has continued.
Further closures throughout the day could be necessary, and drivers are being advised to slow down and expect delays.
