Sammamish Cancels Large Events Into The Summer
SAMMAMISH, WA — The city of Sammamish has preemptively canceled large, in-person events through July 4, citing coronavirus precautions and recent cuts to the city budget.
According to a news release shared Tuesday, the following events are on hold for 2021:
Feb. 13: Sammamish Lunar New Year Celebration
April 25: Sammamish Earth Day
May 16: Rig-A-Palooza
July 4: Fourth on the Plateau
The Sammamish Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department said the four annual celebrations would be replaced by virtual shows, interactive programs and drive-thru events yet to be announced. Details will be shared on the city's website as available.
