Washington is taking a gradual approach to its reopening, using data and a series of metrics to determine when to move forward and continue easing restrictions.
But the approach differs from that of many other states across the country. According to a new study from WalletHub, Washington ranks among the top 10 states with the most restrictions still in place due to the novel coronavirus.
To rank the states, WalletHub looked at 11 factors, including the status of shelter in place orders and restrictions on large gatherings and travel. The study also looked at whether nonessential businesses, including restaurants and bars have reopened, guidance on elective surgeries and information on school closures.
According to the study, states including South Dakota and Wisconsin had the fewest restrictions still in place. Illinois, Rhode Island and Washington, D.C. ranked as the states with the most restrictions still in place.

Good. We're starting to have fewer new cases but let's not open so soon that we have to put the restrictions back on.
