The Supreme Court of Virginia has rejected a legal challenge seeking to overturn the Capitol Square gun ban Gov. Ralph Northam ordered in preparation for Mondays pro-gun rally.
The Virginia Citizens Defense League, the lead organizer of Mondays event, had asked the Supreme Court to overturn a Richmond judges decision upholding the ban as a valid exercise of the governors power over state property.
In a two-page order issued Friday evening after the gun ban took effect, the court said it had not been presented with enough information to justify granting an emergency petition for an injunction overruling the lower court.
The Capitol Square gun ban which the governor has called a necessary public safety measure in response to potential threats from far-right groups seeking to join the rally is scheduled to be in effect from 5 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Some gun control activist groups have recommended no counter demonstrations.

Being Virginia, and being a southern state, I am wondering how many LEOs are sympathetic to this event. Having someone who will not do his job due to favoritism is a danger when that job is protecting citizens from the very folks he is partial to...

There are cops like that in all states, it is not limited to southern states.

However, being a southerner myself I can tell you that around there, the likelihood of such a conflict of interest is more... statistically feasible, shall we say? (Don't live in the south these days, but I have to say it isn't by choice.
