Farenthold declines town hall invitation
CORPUS CHRISTI -- A town hall in Texas' 27th congressional district will be missing someone — the district's elected representative.
A Facebook group opposing Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Corpus Christi), titled "Missing Blake Farenthold," is hosting a town hall Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Oveal Williams Senior Center.
Farenthold's Chief of Staff Bob Haueter told the Caller-Times in an email the congressman is unable to attend to the event because of previous commitments that were scheduled "weeks in advance."
Haueter said Farenthold plans to meet with constituents in another part of the district Wednesday.
