One Texas man has created a humorous new map that shows the harsh realities of Tacos in each region of the Lone Star State.
Extensive research was put into this, John D. Garcia, the maps creator, wrote on Facebook.
Youll notice Garcia outlined some places in Texas where youre S.O.L. if you want good tacos. Theres a dead zone in the southwest, a section in the Panhandle where youre screwed, and a stretch out in East Texas where nobody cares. Everywhere else has its own distinct qualities that you may or may not agree with.
As an Austin resident, I can attest that some of our tacos do indeed have tiny tortillas and can be too expensive, but damn are they delicious.

(112,160 posts)is the part of Texas where it is difficult to find any decent Mexican food (other than a few franchises) due to a relatively low population of Hispanics. I was on the borderline a couple of years ago when I lived in Brenham, but I'm in chile relleno territory now.

(111,255 posts)I always know when I'm getting close because I can smell the garlic for miles. Then there's Chico's Tacos over in the "way too Mexican" part of the state in El Paso.
Otherwise, yeah.

(7,911 posts)It's in a different place, and with a newer, larger building, and probably under different management, but after 40 years there is still a Taco John's in Sterling, Colorado. But I don't think I'm going to drive a thousand miles for a taco.
