Supreme Court decision awaited on UT admissions case

On each of the past four Thursdays, the U.S. Supreme Court was scheduled to discuss behind closed doors whether to take a second crack at a case challenging racial and ethnic considerations in undergraduate admissions at the University of Texas.

The justices could announce their decision as early as Monday regarding Fisher v. University of Texas. Or they could relist the matter for Thursday’s conference. With the court expected to finish its current term by the end of the month, it’s crunch time for a case that underscores a wider national debate about racial equality.
