Pete Gallego says he'll run to reclaim his congressional seat in 2016
SAN ANTONIO — Former U.S. Rep. Pete Gallego said Thursday he will battle for his former seat in District 23 in the 2016 elections.
The Democrat from Alpine said he'll challenge freshman U.S. Rep. Will Hurd, R-San Antonio, who defeated Gallego in November after one term in office.
In a release issued Thursday morning, Gallego said "Congress is more broken than ever. Congressman Will Hurd has quickly become part of the problem."
