Former GOP gubernatorial nominee Scott Wagner sued by victim of Maryland crash: report

Scott Wagner, a former York County state senator and 2018 Republican gubernatorial nominee, this spring was involved in a head-on crash in Maryland that left an elderly man seriously injured.

According to a report first published by The York Daily Record citing a lawsuit, Wagner fell asleep at the wheel last spring, crossed over the center line and hit a car head-on in Maryland.

Wagner, 66, was driving a 2019 Ford F-150 westbound before 3:30 p.m. on May 8 on St. Michaels Road near Solitude Road in Talbot County, The York Daily Record reports. He crashed into a 2002 Toyota Avalon, police said, that Harold Morley was driving eastbound.

According to Maryland State Police, the crash happened less than 3 miles from Wagner’s home.
