Norman North wrestler's rape case dismissed
NORMAN A juvenile petition against one of four former Norman North High School wrestlers accused of sexually assaulting two teammates has been dismissed, according to the teenager's attorney.
Attorney Elton Jenkins said Sage Griffen Gandenberger, 17, no longer faces three counts of rape by instrumentation stemming from allegations that surfaced a year ago that he and three other wrestlers had sexually assaulted two student wrestlers on a bus.
Gandenberger originally was charged as an adult with three felony counts of rape by instrumentation. But a Garvin County judge last year dismissed those charges and moved the case to juvenile court.
Juvenile records are sealed, but Jenkins said he could confirm that Gandenberger's case is "no longer in the system. It was never adjudicated."
