An Albany aquarium with science exhibits could attract some 500,000 visitors per year and would cost about $49.5 million to construct, according to a consultant hired by Omni Development Co.
The feasibility study was completed by Massachusetts-based firm ConsultEcon at the request of commercial real estate developer and Omni President I. David Swawite, who first started floating the Albany aquarium idea last spring.
Now, Swawite is taking the results of the consultant's study to local community and business leaders to try to rally support for the aquarium.
