Mass residents: How do you feel about our cops?

I expect my local cops (Newton) to do the right thing whenever I deal with them, and only remember being mildly disappointed once. I've also had good (but fewer) experiences with Waltham, Watertown, and Tewksbury. Staties have been mild jerks, but nothing too egregious other than one bogus ticket.

I'm curious as to the experiences of others?

1. Shall we talk about Cambridge and Professor Gates?

and Cambridge is a very multi-racial city.

I don't have any personal disappointments with any police in any Mass location.

but Gates was humiliated and I doubt he's looked at the cops the same way since.

Boston cops aren't quite as gun happy as other city cops are. Even when they rioted in 1970, they beat the crap out of anyone they caught with their nightsticks instead of firing shots and using gas in a congested area.

The only time I saw them use firearms overkill was when they got Dzhokar Tsarnaev and they really didn't know what they were facing in terms of firepower.

That the younger terrorist brother was apprehended in actually a brilliant moment of several teams of cops working together well.

Tsarnaev, the younger brother, is still alive and in a prison, and he ran over his older brother in an attempt to escape the confrontation, when his older brother and he were both armed with guns, (one from an MIT cop they killed a few hours earlier), and with small bomb devices.

The apprehension of the younger brother, done in early evening, in a back yard in Watertown, was a bit over the top with concussion weapons, but the wounded young man was taken into custody, not shot deal like a 12 year old in Ohio with a toy gun, or Michael Brown in Missouri for no reason and no gun.
