Employers at Disney agree to $10 hourly minimum

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-disney-union-contracgts-20150403-story.html

Two companies that employ restaurant workers within Disney World have agreed to raise their pay to $10 an hour by 2017.

Unite Here Local 737, a union that represents the 400 workers, has announced the pay agreement with Palmas Services and Patina Restaurant Group.

Workers will vote whether to ratify the contract today.

The wages will be similar to increases Disney World already agreed to for the tens of thousands of people it employs.

I really want to feel positive about this, but sorry, that is too little, too late. A pathetic deal.

McDonald's employees are asking for 15 and Disney is giving 20? That is incredible actually. Are you not happy with that?

May as well start now so they can pay the extra money in 2 fucking years. What a rip off. I like Disneyland, and haven't been in years. I went some 20 years ago, and had 2 kids with me. We stopped at one of the food stands and got hot dogs and chips and drinks. It cost me over $20.00 for 3 hot dogs and chips and drinks.
