his condo at Purgatory Ski Resort this morning. He has worked in the area for 15 years and lives at the resort. The fire started 9 days ago and has continued to grow. The winds have increased the past couple of days which is the last thing they needed. Those evacuating will get police escorts to Durango.

And the weather isn't going to improve for weeks. Huge plume of smoke now, roads closed, people grabbing their pets and evacuating with a short notice...
