But unless something is done, this rich trove of Native American history and several others on the island will almost certainly be destroyed by rising seas and strong storm surges along beaches that will soon no longer exist.

(75,480 posts)my Central Coast California neighbors about climate change. They do not want to believe the present drought is the result of it. "We've had droughts before." They do not want to believe the lack of snow in the Sierras could be permanent. This is closer to home and maybe they might open their eyes.
