serial "sling shot shooter" caught after ten years of terrorizing neighborhood

81-year-old vandalism suspect arrested in Azusa, accused of victimizing neighbors with slingshot

Authorities said the suspect broke windows and windshields, and almost struck people with ball bearings.

On Thursday, investigators served a search warrant in the neighborhood where the incidents had occurred. The suspect, identified as Azusa resident Prince King, was taken into custody, police said.

Ball bearings and a slingshot were found during a search of King's home, according to the statement.

After learning of the “quality of life” problem on the 900 block of the street, the Azusa Police Department’s Directed Enforcement Unit launched an investigation into the incidents and served search warrants throughout the neighborhood.

On Thursday, police arrested a suspect: 81-year-old Prince King of Azusa. Authorities say they found ball bearings and a slingshot in his residence and believe he vandalized his neighbors’ property.

I thought you needed probable cause to get a search warrant.

Did they just search everyone's house in the neighborhood? That sounds like a defense attorney's dream. Am I missing something here?

probably only needed to search 3 or 4 houses at most.

the balls were pretty big, like a large marble, they weren't fired from a gun. They knew they were being thrown or sling shotted. that narrows down the houses.

But after 10 years, neighbors should have figured it out.

I just assumed that he was smarter than that, and did it while on the move while walking or driving, since he's gotten away with it for TEN YEARS now.
