'Dead': California GOP totally collapses and even its former vice chairperson says the party 'isnt salvageable'BRAD REED 14 NOV 2018 AT 08:28 ET
The 2018 midterm elections have further endangered the standing of the California Republican Party, which saw many of its Congressional members lose to Democrats last Tuesday.
Things have gotten so bad for the California GOP that even the partys former vice chairman believes it cant be saved in its current incarnation.
In a column written for CalMatters.org, former Assembly Republican leader Kristin Olsen writes an obituary for her party, which she says has not been able to escape the toxic branding of President Donald Trump.
The California Republican Party isnt salvageable at this time, she writes. The Grand Old Party is dead partly because it has failed to separate itself from todays toxic, national brand of Republican politics.

The republicans still think they can divide California. Then they would gerrymander the new state to be republican. They know which areas make up a conservative majority. To bad 66% of the state votes democratic. The rural areas still have a conservative majority, but us democrats are moving into these areas. My district voted 55% republican and 45% democratic.......Maybe 4 more years to 51% democratic because the white people are getting OLD.....
