Wow, what a good season. Tyson won in a landslide. I was surprised that Vytas stuck to his guns and gave Monica his vote. I also was surprised that the jury disrespected Gervase so much. He played a great game. He carried his tribe in a couple of early challenges. He played a great social game. He seemed to be just as much in the lead as Tyson, even with the edit. I wonder what woul dhave happened if Cierra did not flip. I think they would have all tried to get Tyson out, but oh well.
Great season. Good gameplay, lots of interesting stories. I hope next time we get all new castaways. Sound slike its 3 tribes and a group of nerds, jocks and pretty people like they did on BB a few years ago. I hope they don't bring any more BB types back though.
I thought Hayden and Gervase would play great this year. And though both had their moments, Tyson was clearly the winner. He even got me onto his side at the end. Sorry I missed a few weeks. Family life gets crazy. A few times I was 2 weeks behind. Hopefully it will be better next season.

be a positive influence in his life. The past has shown Colton will tell people
what they want to hear and then Colton will go on to do whatever he wants
to do. So sorry about Tina's son. I think Candice would have apologized to
the Culpeppers if there had been more time in the show. All in all it was a
pretty good season.

(1,948 posts)This was definitely a good one. I thought it would be between Tyson and Monica at the end, and thought she'd get more votes than she did. But Tyson did deserve to get the million. I didn't dislike Gervase, but I didn't think he did as much as he claimed to have done. But that could have been editing too.
I thought Monica was an interesting person. She seemed so desperate to succeed, and show how good she is, what a 'bad ass', this is going to be for me! etc. You would have thought she was a poor down trodden house frau that never gets any attention, or praise, etc. and was determined to have her moment in the limelight. When Brad was mentioned--was it during the final tribal?--and she said so emphatically "I made him! I made him!" I was really surprised. And yet at the reunion it was all about how 'we always know how good you are, the kids know you are awesome' etc. It puzzled me as to her personality. Is she a princess that wants more attention or does she lack self esteem or what?
I read last night that there will be only new players in the next season, so we'll see it that turns out to be true. And as you say--athletes, beauties and smarties. The description of the 'brains' group was that they are REALLY REALLY smart, whatever that means. (Big Bang Theory meets Survivor??)

(16,334 posts)I really thought Gervase had a decent shot and I just plain didn't like Tyson. I know he was playing to be a villain and he clearly knew how to play the game so his win was probably deserved. But I just didn't like him, lol.
I get the feeling that a lot more went on that we didn't see. I think the whole thing could have been more interesting if Tyson had drawn the rock when it came down to that.
I didn't feel anything but pity for Monica. Living in her spouse's shadow is by her own hand. My advice to her (not that she asked!) is that a real "bad-ass" doesn't have to try so hard at proving it.

(20,805 posts)I never rated Gervase that highly, i thought he did a fair amount of Tyson coat-tail riding. No doubt he and Tyson were the top dogs in the tribe, and indeed for the most part of the game, but what continually did him in were his verbal outbursts at fellow tribe-mates. You have to be a silver-tongued devil to walk those comments back if you are wrong, and Gervase simply didn't have the skills. Monica played a strong game this time. Winning three immunity challenges was no small feat, but she fell short in the end because she tried too hard to be the winner (if that makes any sense)...
I was no fan of Tyson to begin with, but he obviously studied his previous failures and learned from them, and was a different person this time around. He fully deserved to win.
Looking forward to a bunch of new faces in the next season, and at least they're being honest about the Abercrombie & Fitch vs. nerds angle that is ALWAYS present whenever you play...SURVIVOR!!!

(3,269 posts)As a long-time Survivor fan, I thought this was one of the most boring seasons ever. The producers were skillful in keeping the show fresh for quite some time, but it's showing signs of fraying.
At least they didn't feature any members of that insane family from Texas.

(4,851 posts)family is from Louisiana. I am also glad they seem done with that family. Totally hate what they bring to the show. As for this season, agree to disagree. Looking forward to next season having all newbies.
