Related: About this forumSo, new season of The Americans began last night. Did it seem strange to you.?
I appreciate that the show is so intelligent. But had a hard time knowing how much "time" had passed since the last Season.
Now, suddenly, we have Paige learning tradecraft, and a bunch of windows are being stared by several people...but why? and who?
Apparently we have a spy vs spy vs spy thing happening here.
Meanwhile, what are the odds Stan't live in girlfriend is spy too?
Gotta go watch it again...my eyeballs are getting rusty, perhaps.

(6,025 posts)Im glad to see Elizabeth is getting worn down and this season will wrap it all up. I love the show as its one of the least contrived, but I felt like the last two seasons were really starting to drag, especially with so many episodes each season.
Homeland needs to end soon. That series is getting really tired.

(6,858 posts)I think it's a great setup to end the series. Elizabeth is taking orders from the hardliners who are her bosses and who oppose glasnost and Gorbachev. Phillip is being recruited to work with the Gorbachev people to stop Elizabeth. We know Gorbachev wins out in the end, sort of? But we don't know who in the family will win out or if the family will survive.
The NY Times reviews and Vulture reviews are almost as much fun as the show. I learn a lot from the comments section. Lots of very knowledgeable viewers. Google THe Americans NYT Times reviews. For some reason, no paywall.
