(149,648 posts)I've been taking these photos for some years now, and no werewolves were ever involved!

(205,611 posts)Sunday night when I walked outside, a friend of mine asked me if it was a full moon. And before I could help myself, I went with my first thought and said "CaliforniaPeggy would know!" I'm sure they thought that was weird, since these folks aren't on DU, but your wonderful photos of the full moon were the very first thing I thought of!

(205,611 posts)And those who haven't discovered DU yet don't know what they're missing. I managed to convince a couple of friends who I knew would fit in, and they both signed up, but never posted a thing.

(149,648 posts)It was low in the eastern sky when I took this; now it's heading for the western horizon. There are some thin high clouds blocking it, but it's still shining!

(32,015 posts)You captured great detail. I forgot to look last night when I took my pup outside, so thank you for bringing the image to all of us. Lovely.

(8,906 posts)I would join you in this endeavor, if it would only stop raining and the clouds clear. I wish I could send you some of this water
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,648 posts)You are being very silly!
I do enjoy taking photos with people I know. And I sure wish you could send some of your rain to us here in thirsty, dry California!

(149,648 posts)But they were not in view when I took the photo.
They would have been little bright dots anyway.
More magnification is needed to see the planets with any amount of detail.

(149,648 posts)As recently as a year ago, my moon photos were not nearly as good as they are now. And I still see places where I could do them better.
A good friend is teaching me how to use what is commonly called "photoshopping" and that has really helped bring out the details.
Besides which, it's fun!

(149,648 posts)I normally cannot be up early as I am a night person.
I do remember one time when the sun was setting and the moon rising--they seemed to be lovers doomed to be ever separated, never together.
