Color cascade in the Portland Japanese Garden

Same day, same locale as my entry the ongoing contest.

The Japanese Garden is really beautiful in the fall, they also have a free guided tour which is well done, describng the design of the garden, and some of its history.

Thank you for posting! We went to Lan Su, the Chinese garden in Portland, a few years ago and thought it was amazing. So they have a terrific Japanese garden as well?

I like them both. The Japanese garden is to the west of downtown, near the zoo & rose garden. Nice walk up there from downtown if you have the time.

I haven't seen the Japanese garden in the spring yet, it's supposed to be amazing.

I seem to remember Lan Su was north of downtown, but maybe I turned that around looking back. The Japanese garden is on our list now for a return visit!

If you like Thai food, after a visit to the Japanese Garden, walk down to the khao soy thai restaurant. Incredible food, good prices. Just *do not* order any extra spice unless you know about real thai stars.

Thank you for the brief reprieve from Trump, Trump, Trump. I'm in Palm Springs, CA and a parade of about 20 or so suckers and losers just drove by our condo. Honking horns and flags, flags, flags everywhere. It'll be over soon.
