(1,366 posts)Loved the thought provoking details.
What is he drinking? Can't see....
Why is he in just his socks? Not going anywhere?
Wearing Blue Blockers. What does it look like from where he is sitting?
What is that contraption that is holding up that small "shrub/tree" in the distance? Who knows?....

(1,660 posts)Drinking? Beer.
Socks? The deck is just outside the door from the sunroom, and he is pretty casual at home
The contraption is a climbing frame for vines. The tree in the middle is a memorial for my sister Cara who died in 1990 at the age of 36
And here's what he's looking at (shot on a spring evening):
This is the back their home, shot at sunrise from down by the pond in the previous picture.

(17,288 posts)And to think he got to do it for 57 years! May we all try and remember/relive our own such precious moments of peace and appreciation of nature (and a good beer!) Gorgeous tree...what a lovely expression of love and remembrance for your sister.

(1,660 posts)I spent a lot of sweet autumns there (London, Ontario), but I've never seen one like that before. My folks sold the farm in March after spending 57 years there, and it was like Mother Nature put on one last big show for them. I feel very lucky to have been there.
