Sorry for the heavy watermarks. I already have plans for this one, but I thought DU was the perfect place to share. Racial tension, even amongst cows!
There is a cool story behind it. Which is: I was driving around the back roads of rural Connecticut, which I am wont to do when bored and/or inspired, and I came across this elderly man tearing down an old wooden ice-house on a beautiful small farm (notice, no ear tags on the cows). He allowed me to take pictures, and we chatted. I gave him my card, and I drove away. A couple of weeks later he calls me. He wants a few pictures. Okay, I said, figuring it was a freelance job or something. I arrive at his house with my camera, and he tells me, no, he didn't want me to TAKE pictures...he was using all the old barnwood to make custom picture frames. Woodworking was his hobby, but he'd never made frames from barnwood before. He wanted a couple of my pictures to frame. I could keep them, just tell him whether or not they were any good. Like...seriously. Free frames for my artwork.
So anyway, he is currently framing this photo, plus another of the ice house, using the wood he salvaged from the building. How cool is that? Here are a couple of the cows I photographed that day. This picture, and another of the ice house, will be framed using the wood from the farm I photographed as he was tearing it down. Hope you like! (and understand the watermark).
