Looking for a digital display frame that uses metadata to organize and filter pics.

I've finally gotten around to getting the old photos digitized, and I have added metadata to my files, including Keywords, Create Date, Source, Description (caption), etc.

I'd like to use my 1 Tb USB drive to load them onto a photo display frame, and to be able to organize them in groups (not sure of the nomenclature here, some devices call them slide shows, some use playlist, some say albums?) to display. Some pics would be in more than one group, but I don't want to have to store them in two locations or folders.

What I don't want is to have any kind of connection to the internet or WiFi REQUIRED. (I know most of them are likely to have WiFi options, apparently people love exposing their image files to anyone who might be interested in hacking them via the toobz. Not my thing. So if there's such an option I want to be free not to use it and still have the device function properly.)

Other preferences would be to have controls on the device itself as buttons or a touchscreen, rather than to need a remote control (I can't keep track of all the remote controls I already have,) and to have some native storage space on the device so that I don't have to leave the USB drive plugged into it all the time. I prefer direct AC connection but wouldn't mind AC and battery backup.

Any recommendations? Suggestions?

1. No suggestion for the device

But for a remote perhaps a pair of velcro dots. One side on the frame back or side, the other on the remote.
Won't work for TV because of use but a picture frame that would be set and forget it might.

Although I do find them clunky to use when I'm just sitting with the device in my lap trying to put together groupings and sort through features, etc.

But I'm definitely getting the impression that I may have to settle for stuff I don't necessarily want in order to get access to what I really DO want, and if that means ending up with a remote, that would be a good way to deal with it!

3. Well

what has worked for me............I had an old Inspirion One 23" touchscreen no key board needed. Windows 10 had a feature whereby file explorer offered a "slide show" function for folders with photos (function removed in Windows 11). It is connected to the network so that I can update it with all new photos from my main computer. Desktop only, it weighs a ton. A tablet might be a lighter and cheaper option, but imminently more flexible than a dedicated photo frame.

4. Thanks, that would be a good option- in fact something similar is what I do now.

But I'm looking for something I can take to the warehouse with me some day, and put on a table or nightstand, when everyone I knew/loved is already dead. That'll be a different type of operational priority.
