Rocks can be awesome things. My granddad had a rock polishing machine and he turned out some beautiful stones, one of which I found the other day. Time travel in a shiny stone.

Your granddad polished a precious stone. Many of the rocks, minerals and fossils I have were found while rockhounding. None of them are high-quality specimens but they're more precious to me than anything I bought from a rock shop.

They often looked like nothing but mud when he picked them up, but wow did they change once they were cut and polished.
