Related: About this forumI'm leaving for a ten day road trip next week.
I'm going up through the Mojave desert from southern Arizona to far northern California, mostly on the east side of the Sierra. It's a work trip but I really only have to dedicate two or three days to work-- the rest will be travel and photography days if I drive rather than fly. I want to spend a day or so in the bristle cone pine forests of White Mtn on the east side of Owens Valley. I'm really looking forward to it. Here's a photo from my last time up there (but still a few thousand feet below the bristle cone pines). That's the Sierra crest across the Owens Valley from the Inyo National Forest. I know I've shared this photo before-- I'm just super excited to get back up there again!

(1,303 posts)Congratulations on a job that allows for extended freewheeling travel in such gorgeous country. Most of us have to roll our own!
I look forward to some imagery from your travels.

(36,281 posts)Thanks for your best wishes. I'm really looking forward to this trip. I've spent the last several months in 100% chore mode, and can't wait for some time under the stars and on the road.

If you cook up anything good outdoors, tell us at c & b.

(3,190 posts)I'm going on a cruise next week. I love 395, it's my favorite place. It will be hot in the valley, but it will be nice up in the mountains near the Bristlecone Pines.
