(16,899 posts)They opened for The Little River Band in August 1981 at the St. Paul Civic Center.
My husband and I walked into the arena as Pablo Cruise were doing a soundt check. Afterwards, David Jenkins spent some time with us. Of course. I was wearing my PC t-shirt. We had front row seats.
Best part was going backstage after TLRB finished and meeting them. Good times. Great concert too.

(1,996 posts)That had to be a wonderful night for you both. They are )PC) an underrated band IMHO and I do love TLRB as well

(16,899 posts)The albums and CDs, gone. Streaming has been a technological dream if I want to listen or watch concerts.
When we met the members of The Little River Band, I recall my encounter with lead singer Glen Sharrock. He spoke of Melbourne, Australia. Unbeknownst to me, 2018 would find me in Australia, but not as far south as Melbourne. Next time.

(65,427 posts)I've been there 3 times, for work.
I found they really enjoy American visitors, but...
When going through immigration, question one is "What brings you to Australia?" The second one is "Can I see your return ticket?" LOL!
Happy to have us visit, but they don't want us staying.
I arranged my schedule, the 2nd time, to take around a 5 hour drive west into the undeveloped land. Saw a few kangaroos in the wild. And a wallaby.
Glad I did it.

(65,427 posts)Every one of those guys were very skilled players. And, they formed organically in the garage (or basement).
Here's another one I really liked. The guitar solo always sounded like something that would be in a Steely Dan tune.

(1,996 posts)Very talented group and yes. I hadn't thought of the two bands together but can hear a bit of Steely Dan in them.
