and I wasn't impressed with their performance. Their album releases sound nothing like the live band. I spoke with about a dozen of my other friends and they had the same thoughts as I did. I don't believe that any of us ever listened to them again or bought their albums after New Miserable Experience.

For that album was fired from the band and ultimately either OD'ed or killed himself, so that could explain the difference. Its a sad story, and I lost a lot of respect for the band after I read about all this, although I'm sure the record company had a lot to do with it. Sad story.

but their performance reminded me of performances of some of the worst bars in Texas. Major issues with the overall balance between instruments and vocals that were barely recognizable. Plenty of wrong notes also. Knowing that they were a studio phenomenon and unable to perform on stage what was recorded in the studio made me lose respect.
