(24,504 posts)Pre-show has a dude from England that is a true Deadhead - Sam Cutler....apparently he was their accountant after Lenny Hart absconded with $300K from the Dead.....great stories. He obviously loves this band dearly. What a fascinating dude.

Ushered in every New Year at the Civic in SF, then in Oakland. To hell with that New Years ball drop in Times Square. That's how you celebrate the New Year!
Side note: Bill Graham always came out of the rafters at midnight, in some elaborate costume, Bill was terrified of heights, and would only do the New Year's entrance if Mr. Willie John Cashman, superb welder and old biker (and really nice guy) checked it out and told him it was safe.
